Northern Colorado Holiday Events

The weather is turning cooler and the days are becoming shorter.  As winter comes closer, so do the beautiful Colorado holiday events.  For our family and many others, this time of the year is a time to celebrate with the wonderful people of our cities and neighborhoods. As a result, we have listed some of this year’s holiday events in Northern Colorado.

Lights Up: The Front Range Village, the newer shopping area located on the northwest corner of Harmony and Ziegler in Fort Collins, is having their annual tree lighting event.  This event is a family event on Friday, November 22nd, starting at 6 PM and ending at 830PM.  The event will include fireworks, photo opportunities with Santa and live entertainment from the Dickens Carolers and Canyon Concert Ballet.

Santa Claus Arrives in Old Town Fort Collins: On November 23rd, Santa Claus will be arriving in Old Town.  Accompanying Santa Claus will be the Santa Claus Workshop.  The workshop is open from noon to 6 PM, Wednesday through Saturday.  The last workshop will take place on Dec 22nd.  Santa will also be reading stories to kids on Thursdays and Fridays at 1130AM at the Clothes Pony.

Menorah Lighting Ceremony: On December 2nd, there will be a Menorah lighting ceremony at the Fort Collins Old Town Square.  The event is from 530PM to 7 PM.

Fort Collins Area Lighting Displays: Two of our favorite light displays include the Garden of Lights and Woodward’s Drive-thru light display.  The first display, Garden of Lights, opens Dec 6th and goes through January 1st.  It is open every evening from 5-9PM.  The garden is lit in thousands of LED lights.  One of the highlights is the brilliant blue LED pool. The garden is located at 2145 Centre Ave. in Fort Collins.  The other light display that is fun is Woodward’s drive-through light display.  You can drive through and look at lights from the warmth of your own car.  There are miniature buildings that are lit up throughout.  Woodward is located at the northwest corner of Lemay and Drake with entry into the light display being on Drake, west of Lemay.

Loveland Community Tree Lighting: The Loveland Museum and Gallery make the Loveland tree lighting possible.  The lighting will take place on Friday, December 6th from 5 PM to 7 PM.  This is an annual event located at the corner of Third Street and Washington Avenue, near the Civic Center.  Some of the activities at the lighting will be carriage rides, carolers and special music.
